# Close & Manage Perp Positions

### View Open Positions <a href="#f314d950-7c09-4dff-96b8-61dbb313b4d2" id="f314d950-7c09-4dff-96b8-61dbb313b4d2"></a>

Use `/positions` to see all your open perpetual positions. Each position displays direction (long or short), entry price, size, margin, and unrealized PnL.

### Close a Position <a href="#id-5880d4ac-feb7-43b5-a0df-a4cce82bab9e" id="id-5880d4ac-feb7-43b5-a0df-a4cce82bab9e"></a>

Use `/close` to close an open position.

1. Select the position you want to close
2. Choose to close partially or fully:
   * **Partial close:** Enter a percentage or specific amount to reduce your position
   * **Full close:** Closes the entire position

A **Realized PnL Card** is displayed after closing, showing entry price, exit price, and final PnL.

> ⚠️ **Closing a position is irreversible. Double-check the details before confirming.**

### Modify a Position <a href="#id-171b3fef-51ff-4110-b046-e66f95698678" id="id-171b3fef-51ff-4110-b046-e66f95698678"></a>

* **Adjust SL/TP:** Set or update stop-loss and take-profit levels after opening. See the Stop-Loss and Take-Profit page for instructions.
* **Add margin:** Increase margin on an existing position to reduce liquidation risk.

> ℹ️ **Note:** Margin mode (Isolated or Cross) is set when opening a position and cannot be changed afterward. To switch modes, close the position and reopen it with the desired margin mode.

### Portfolio Overview <a href="#id-271f4bb3-e462-445d-b0f9-8066259a241f" id="id-271f4bb3-e462-445d-b0f9-8066259a241f"></a>

Use `/portfolio` to view a summary of your account, including net worth, margin usage, and all open positions. Values reflect your Hyperliquid account state in real time.
