# Make Your First Trade

Find a token and place your first spot trade on the Web Terminal.

## Overview

Once your account is funded, you're ready to place your first trade. Click supports Spot Trading, Perpetual Futures, and Prediction Markets, all from a single platform. Each product trades from its own balance.

You can discover markets through the terminal or jump directly to a token using its contract address.

## Finding a Market

There are several ways to navigate to a market.

### Browse Products

Select the trading product you'd like to use:

* Spot
* Perpetual Futures
* Prediction Markets

### Search

Use the search bar to quickly find:

* Token names
* Contract addresses (CA)
* Wallet addresses

Token results have a **Buy** button. It is Quick Buy: it places a market buy as soon as you click it, using your active preset. There is no confirmation step.

For even faster access, simply copy a contract address to your clipboard and click the **Paste CA** button at the top of the terminal. Click will automatically navigate you to the corresponding market.

## Placing Your First Trade

1. Select the asset you want to trade.
2. Review your available trading balance.
3. Choose your preferred order type.
4. Enter the amount you'd like to trade.
5. Review your order details.
6. Confirm your trade.

Once your order has been executed, your position will automatically appear in both your **Portfolio** and on the individual asset's trading page, where you can monitor performance, manage your position, and view your trade history.

## Order Types

### Perpetual Futures

#### Market Order

Executes immediately at the best available market price.

Best for users who want immediate execution.

#### Limit Order

Places an order at a specific price selected by you.

Your order will only execute if the market reaches your target price.

#### Scale Order

Automatically spreads a larger order across a user-defined price range, allowing you to gradually enter a position instead of executing everything at once.

#### Stop Limit

A Stop Limit order combines a stop trigger with a limit order.

Once your stop price is reached, Click submits a limit order using your specified limit price. This provides greater price control but does not guarantee execution if the market moves beyond your limit.

#### Stop Market

A Stop Market order activates when your chosen stop price is reached and immediately executes as a market order.

This is commonly used to protect positions or automate entries and exits.

#### TWAP (Time-Weighted Average Price)

TWAP automatically divides a large order into multiple smaller orders that execute over time.

This helps reduce market impact when trading larger position sizes.

Scale, Stop Limit, Stop Market, and TWAP are under the **Pro** menu in the order panel.

### Spot Trading

#### Market Order

Executes immediately at the current market price.

You can customize trade size, slippage, and default trading preferences through your Trading Presets in Settings.

#### Limit Order

Places a buy or sell order at a market cap you specify.

Your order will remain open until your target is reached or the order is cancelled.

#### DCA

Splits your order into several smaller orders placed over time.

## Trade Settings

Depending on the product you're trading, Click allows you to configure:

* Slippage tolerance
* Gas settings
* Leverage
* Cross or Isolated Margin
* Reduce Only
* Take Profit (TP)
* Stop Loss (SL)
* Advanced trading preferences

These settings can be adjusted before submitting your order.

## Managing Your Position

Once your order has been executed, your trade can be viewed from:

* Portfolio
* Open Positions
* Orders
* Trade History

These sections provide real-time updates on your positions, balances, unrealized PnL, and completed trades.

## Closing a Position

To exit a spot position, sell from the trading panel with a Market or Limit sell.

Perps positions close with **Market Close** or **Limit Close**. To close part of a position, choose the size in either window.

## Common Trading Issues

If your trade does not execute as expected, check the following:

* Sufficient available balance
* Correct leverage selection
* Slippage tolerance
* Order price relative to the current market

If the issue persists, please contact Click Support on Discord.
